Official: Middlesbrough defender known Spanish transfers


Valencia defender Antonio Barragan was signed last summer for the English team, Middelsbrough.

29-year-old has signed a three-year contract after completing medical tests on Friday afternoon Rockliffe.

Barragan, who signed for Liverpool as a 18-year-old brings a wealth of experience, having made over 100 appearances for Valencia after his spells with Deportivo La Coruna and Valladolid.

The team's coach, Aitor Karanka was pleased to sign Spanish defender.

"I'm really pleased that he has signed. He is a player that we know a lot about him and he is a good addition to the squad. He is a good guy and he played a great match for Valencia, "said Karanka.

Barragan comes as the latest transfer, after Viktor Fischer, Bernardo Espinosa, Marten de Roon, Victor Valdes, and Jordan McGhee.
